St. Lucy

Another icon. St. Lucy. I loved the stories of the virgin martyr saints as a girl. I am named for one, after all, but I love the eyes on the plate. In my version, the more beautiful eyes, which grown in, are brown, because so are mine.

This is an Oregon Yellow Rose. 3-d effect from broken baby food jar painted in gold pigment, green sea glass, fresh water pearls and a fake gold nugget complete the rose. Back ground is collaged and closely fit together gilded clear glass. No piece larger than .5" X .5".
